Nippon Pulse brings ORION to MD&M Midwest
October 28–29, 2026 · Minneapolis Convention Center, Hall A
Nippon Pulse, one of our eleven vendor lines, is showing off ORION this week. It's a new four-axis motion platform, running live in the VERMES Microdispensing booth (#3710, Hall A) at MD&M Midwest in Minneapolis.
ORION pairs Nippon Pulse's linear shaft motors with a passive gLess counterbalance and an AngleLock aluminum structure. No screws, belts, or gears doing the positioning. Just a magnet-filled shaft and a coil that never touches it.
Copley Controls is in the machine too. Copley servo drives run each of ORION's four axes, and a Nippon Pulse Commander CMD-4CR sits above them, coordinating the motion. Both are vendor lines we carry, each one doing the part it's built for.
What it does
- Resolution: down to the micron on X/Y
- Speed: over 2 meters per second
- Payload: above 15 pounds
- Travel: 100 millimeters to 3 meters, no custom tooling
- Drives: Copley Controls servo drives, one per axis
- Control: Nippon Pulse Commander CMD-4CR, coordinating all four
In the booth, ORION is carrying a VERMES dispensing valve, so you can watch the axes track a fast-firing valve without losing a step. Nippon Pulse is there as VERMES's guest. VERMES is hosting the booth.
